100 days done
So how much did I do?
I knocked over 50 which included chores and books and food and nowhere near enough blogging.
So what do I do with the 50 outstanding ? I will try and mop them up in the next fifty.
Highlights
Finding the fridge that I have spent the last 10 years talking about.
The inter islander and riding my scooter in the south island
Learning to make some fantastic food.
Growing my 100 days long epic beard
Always having a project on is draining and rewarding
So now it is on to the 50 day distillation
Bring it
Fishing with my mate
Sentimental posts are great when you are sure not many people read you your blog.
So this weekend I got to sneak away and knock a few items off the list. Some of them were a little wasteful in terms filleting a fish fish for practise, Mr Mackerel died so that I could bring number 96 to completion more on that soon.
I realised I forgot to take a picture of the boat on the trailer this time around but let’s see what we can do
Number 52 on the list go fishing, this is a photo of the last time I went fishing the prompt for the new 2 wallets 2 phones checklist. However, this time I managed to not lose the wallet.
There are many cliches that people throw around about fishing, it is something that never came easy to me as a child. I was a distinctly average fisherchild. I still struggle with the basics of tying my traces and I even bait a hook as though I have a learning difficulty. But I learned the most important skill patience.
I sometimes wish that this patience extended further however it doesn’t.
Saturday was fantastic everything about it from landing my first kingfish to just about pulling in a 2 foot long Kahawai with a bait rod. There are few days that get better.
Dad landed that first kingfish

It was fantastic to watch the Mackerel at the back of the boat and the Kahawai running
We got a feed of fish
Oh and I had my photo taken, with my fisherman’s beard
Only one thing left to do, smoke zee fish.
Now the key to smoking is good prep and good wood.
The fish is salted and brown sugared

Then using meths burning smokers

fish goes in, careful not burn ones beard
45 minutes later.

It tastes phenomenal, and tomorrow some of my colleagues are going to be very lucky to have some. Not the kingfish tail, they can jog on.
Once again.
Thanks Dad
I love it when (you don’t have) a plan (and it) comes together
So a couple of interesting things have happened recently which would be an argument for the power of positive thinking.
I won’t go into details about both let’s just say I will add them to the project file and see how how things go.
I have joined the ranks of men that have a project in the shed. Although mine is still in someone else’s shed in Christchurch.
On another note I have become a proper handy man, I repaired and replaced some of the framing on the Caroline st windows and they look good, good enough to be included on the list at number 30
